Why wholesale buyers need a quote before they order
B2B and wholesale buyers rarely pay list price. They expect volume discounts, negotiated terms, and a written quote they can circulate for approval before anyone commits. A standard Shopify storefront, built for one-click retail checkout, does not match that buying motion. Showing a fixed price and an add-to-cart button to a buyer who is used to negotiating either loses the sale or forces the conversation into email, spreadsheets, and manual invoices.
ShopQuotes closes that gap without pulling you off Shopify. It adds a native Request a Quote button and popup to your storefront with no theme code, and it can hide price and hide add to cart on the products or catalogs where quoting makes sense. Buyers ask, you price, you send.
From request to paid order
The flow stays inside Shopify the whole way:
- A buyer submits a quote request through a form you build (fields, products, quantities).
- The request lands in ShopQuotes and converts into a real Shopify draft order, so your inventory, taxes, discounts, and customer records all behave normally.
- You send a branded Live Quote page. The buyer opens it, accepts, and pays through native Shopify checkout. No separate invoicing tool, and no commission on the order.
Because the quote becomes a draft order, you are not rekeying anything or reconciling a third-party document against Shopify later.
Send on your terms, and see what happens
Quotes can go out from your own email domain (Gmail, Outlook, SendGrid, Resend, or any SMTP), or be shared by link or as a PDF for buyers who route everything through procurement. Every quote carries open, click, and conversion analytics, so you know when a buyer has looked at pricing and which quotes are actually closing. That is the part that makes ShopQuotes a CRM for quotes rather than a plain RFQ form: you build, track, and send, then watch the pipeline.
Merchants across saunas and wellness (SaunaKits, Premium Saunas), audio and AV (K&B Audio), industrial (PLG Automation), and ID and print (Cards-X) run their quoting this way.
