What Shopify native B2B actually gives you
Shopify’s built-in B2B features are real and useful, but they sit inside the admin. They include company profiles, catalogs, price lists, and draft orders. Two things matter here:
- They require Shopify Plus. If you are on Basic, Shopify, or Advanced, native B2B is not available to you.
- Even on Plus, there is no storefront “Request a Quote” button and no branded, trackable quote pages by default. A buyer cannot land on your product page, ask for a price, and receive a quote they open and pay for. That part is left to you.
So native B2B answers “how do I run priced accounts for logged-in wholesale buyers” but not “how does a new prospect ask me for a quote from the storefront.”
What request-a-quote apps add
Request-a-quote apps work on any Shopify plan and fill the buyer-facing gap. At the simplest end they hide price or the add-to-cart button and show a form that emails the request to you. The category ranges from form-only tools to fuller quote management:
| App | Type | Reviews / rating | Pricing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quote Snap (formerly Omega) | Request-a-quote form | 649, 4.8 | Free / $16.99 / $36.99 / $96.99 |
| SA Request a Quote, Hide Price | RFQ + hide price | 599, 4.8 | listed on App Store |
| BSS B2B Order, Request a Quote | B2B order form + quick order + RFQ | 164, 4.9 | Free (5 quotes) / $19 / $39 / $79 |
Quote Snap and SA Request a Quote are focused on the front-end job: hide the price, show a form, send the request to the merchant. BSS goes further with admin quote management and price negotiation, but it is not a sales pipeline or CRM.
Where ShopQuotes fits
ShopQuotes is a request-a-quote app, so it works on any plan and adds the storefront request button and popup with no theme code. The difference is what happens after the request. ShopQuotes is a CRM for quotes: it builds, tracks, and sends them.
- Every quote request converts into a real Shopify draft order.
- You send a branded Live Quote page the customer opens, accepts, and pays for through native Shopify checkout.
- Quotes can go from your own email domain (Gmail, Outlook, SendGrid, Resend, or any SMTP), or by link or PDF.
- You get open, click, and conversion analytics on every quote, which form-only and admin-only tools do not.
That gives you the buyer-facing experience native B2B skips, plus the tracking layer that basic RFQ forms skip.
How to choose
- On Shopify Plus and only need priced accounts for logged-in buyers: native B2B may be enough.
- Need a storefront request button on any plan and just want the request emailed to you: a form app like Quote Snap or SA Request a Quote covers it.
- Quote a lot and want to track, send, and close quotes as draft orders with branded pages and analytics: that is where ShopQuotes fits.
ShopQuotes has a free Launch plan (up to 5 Live Quotes, unlimited quote requests), then Grow at $19/mo and Scale at $49/mo, with a 30-day trial on paid plans and no commission on orders. See full pricing, the deeper request-a-quote app comparison, or install from the Shopify App Store.
